NYSC.- Life After…..What Next?- (Leaders’ Advices)

You’ve done well. Yes…after the years spent on campus, you yielded to the clarion call. You’ve done well!
Now its over, Allowee is over, New level, new start. Where do you kick off from.
Some had hopes they would be retained at the Place of primary assignment, but nothing surfaced….so what next?
Reading through some comments during the Passing Out Ceremonies,  hmmm…… Well Said…..

In Akwa Ibom State, the governor, Mr. Godswill Akpabio, advised them to continue serving the nation in whatever sector of the economy they find themselves. The governor advised the outgoing 2,893 corps members in the state to embrace self-employment.

Also, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, urged the corps members to deploy their creative thinking into how to create jobs for themselves rather than roaming the streets in search of paid jobs.

image

He said, “ It is imperative to stress that gone are the days to expect that immediately after service, one would secure an automatic life-time job even among several alternatives. The attitude and orientation of majority of our young graduates was that creative thinking and individual initiative ended when they wrote their final examination.“This is absolutely wrong. You need to apply creativity more now in the face of unemployment bedeviling the nation. Focus more on self employment.”

image

Also, the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, – “As you are now faced with the task of seeking gainful employment, I advise you to nurture and apply yourselves to the practical lessons of self-employment, which you were exposed to in the course of your service year, through the skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development programme, as white collar jobs are no longer available for all employable Nigerians as in the past.“I therefore urge you to be self-reliant so as to assist the government in fighting the rising rate of unemployment in our society,” Amaechi said.

However Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State urged them to make the necessary sacrifice required to achieve success , “Some of you may be rightly apprehensive of what tomorrow holds for you. I want to assure you that it is bright. As educated young men and women with requisite skills, the sky is your limit.
“However, you must recognise that the road to success has never been easy. History has shown that no individual or nation has ever achieved success without sacrifices.”

Words from the leaders…. I will say, that’s some good advice for those willing to take to it.
Even if there are vacancies, it may not be enough to accommodate all the graduates we have. The best way out is Skills and self employment.  Making you not only good to go but good for the Economy.

My words go out to y’all. The time you have now, use it well. Some were here at the Academy during the Service year and have definitely gained a lot.

Nigeria! How Now?

I met a mother one day, she had harboured her kids all her life, struggling to help them survive, even in her helpless state. Yet all the children do daily is to abuse, curse, tounge-lash and ignore her…..

image

I asked her why she won’t just ignore and leave them to srruggle and see how easy it is to survive in the midst of negativity. …… she said, mothers take all the blame and still never let go because the bond is too strong…………hmmmmmmm
Who is this struggling woman? Who never gets word of encouragement from her numerous children, constantly battered by bitter words….., abandoned. ……forsaken……blamed for all the wrongs they ever found themselves in, even when they walked into it with eyes wide shut……
Her name is NIGERIA. …….
We blame our inadequacies on this nation…..the leadership, the people, the policies, ……..
But, who makes Nigeria, Nigeria?

image

If there was no you and I, there would be no NIGERIA. We all make up what we see today. ….if you ignore your part and I ignore mine, how can we get a better nation?

image

Until we all come together to start the change, nothing will happen. And it starts with YOU!

image

How do you describe your nation? Words are life; words are seed; if we keep using negative words how can the nation be healthy.? Yes so many things are wrong, do not join them to make it worse.
It is our bed, the way we lay it is the way we will lie on it…..

image

No organization can grow when the employees do not love the organization. ….no nation can grow if the citizens do not see hope in it. Nobody is happy with the wrong turn of things, but rather than speak ill words, Pray!!! It is our land, if it prospers, we prosper.

image

I laugh when people tell me they can’t wear white and green. Yet they can carry American flag on their jean, bags, cars etc…….tënî n tënï….what you value is what works for you.

image

See it from a different perspective. ….see yourself in the change process. …if it works, the better….

image

Speak life! Speak hope! Speak change!  I see a better Nigeria. I will do my part where i am. As much as I want my organization to succeed, I must remember it is inside Nigeria. Thus the wellness of the nation will rub on me….

image

One Nation under God, He will hear our prayers and the cry of the helpless. .. this nation will Grow….

image

Be positive! Wherever you find yourself, dare to make a positive influence.

Keep Doing Right!
